Helicobacter pylori is a cause of chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and defined as a carcinogen by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The resistance of clarithromycin, which is mainly used for the first antibiotics of Helicobacter pylori, is steadily growing. The need to check antibiotic resistance is increasing to reduce medication costs, patient protection, and antibiotic misuse.
