M monitor's SARS-CoV-2 detection kits, MmaxSure™ SARS-CoV-2 Detection Kit and MmaxSure™ EZ SARS CoV-2 Detection Kit, are able to detect the Omicron variant(B.1.1.529).
The Omicron variant is characterized by mutations in the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2. The target genes of our kit are RdRP gene and N gene, not the S gene. As a result of in-silico analysis between the target gene of our kit and omicron mutation, it was confirmed that there are no effects on diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 with mutation.
